As the name implies, this type of summary appraisal assesses the replacement value of the instrument or bow in the current retail market. It is the most common type of appraisal requested from us and is to be used exclusively for insurance purposes.
If you are considering having your instrument or bow appraised by us, we ask that you set up an appointment to bring in or send the item(s) that you would like appraised for a “preliminary” examination. This preliminary period (we ask that you allow a minimum of two business days) is designed to provide us time to study your instrument or bow and determine whether we will be able to provide you with the service you have come to expect*. The schedule of fees is as follows:

Updated Appraisals:

A retail replacement value appraisal previously on file with us can be updated and issued to the same individual for $50. If photographs are not already on file, there will be an additional charge of $100.
Already a member of the Appraiser’s Association of America since 1991, James Warren of Kenneth Warren & Son, Ltd. is now also certified by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Certificates of Authenticity:

Our authentication service is respected worldwide. A Warren certificate’s value is backed by years of personal acquaintance with the finest examples of known makers, augmented by an extensive research library.
Our fee for certification of an instrument or bow is 5% of its fair market value plus an additional fee of $100 for photographs. A retail replacement value appraisal letter will be included at no additional cost.
